District Council had been restructured reduction of 5 to 3 directors to save money, this
led to staff reductions. Spoke about grant applications
Cllr.Gill presented his report
We
have positively moved into the New Year with all medium term plans completed.
The MUGA and
There
will be smaller additions in the future similar to the bench and refuse bin that
were erected before the end of 2004.
The
long-term plans set in May 2000 to acquire more recreation space are still
being pursued but this can only happen if suitable land becomes available.
Meanwhile
junior and senior football training continues on the multi use games area on
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Ladies netball meets on Wednesdays
At
present the tennis nets have been stored for the winter but if you are really
keen to play contact Mike Mullen 718883 or Peter Gill 718224.
Bookings
for any activities can be discussed with Peter Gill 718224.
We
charge per hour for any groups who do not live in the Village.
The
Parish Council continues to cover the cost of lighting the recreation areas
which at present is 4 nights per week (Mon/Wed/ Fri/Sat)
Once
again if you have any ideas about the use of the recreation areas please
4/5
contact any of the councillors or come to our council meetings. You may also
have ideas on future projects. Many people have been surprised but pleased
with the accomplishments thus far, so further views, I am sure, will be
positively received and considered.
Your
co-operation in caring for all the Recreation Areas in the village is very much
appreciated and in particular by using the rubbish bins and clearing all dog mess!!
On
that final note I am afraid the amount of dog mess on our footpaths is not
decreasing and is very distasteful and disheartening. Please note the Parish
Council will notify the District Council of names and addresses of dog owners
who are seen ignoring the mess left by their dogs.
Sincerely, Peter Gill - Chair
