Wheelwash at Shellingford Quarry now serviceable(Reported by Chairman)
· Oxfordshire County Council proposes to install a Zebra Crossing in the
High Street and Council were shown plans of the proposed site. Item to
the newsletter and there followed a discussion regarding parking and
location of the site. Councillors were reminded that Council had
requested this crossing and had asked for this site. Clerk to liaise with
Co-op re rear parking and disabled spaces.

issued with a wrong proposal although the plans were correct ie a rear
conservatory proposed was also a front extension. Following
comments from residents who were not happy with district planners
responses, the Clerk had contacted VoWHDC planning who had
offered to speak to any resident and apologised for the previous
attitude of staff towards residents and parish councillor
· Clerk reminded Council that although he had provided budget
figures and forecasts, the ultimate decision was with council
· Signs and electrics had been replaced on main road roundabout
following an accident
· Several applications for donations had been received and following
discussion it was decided that the following be supported

· There has been several complaints regarding a house extension
in
and expiry dates.

Clerk read a newspaper article regarding rent
rises for sports clubs. Having faced hostility regarding the new lease with the
Football Club it was interesting comparing the proposed rise in
· 6 trees need felling inc 5 of the 12 apostles. The elders at the rec field need grubbing out and due to a split a tree on Church Green also needs felling. Approx 10 new trees will be planted although the apostles will not be replaced, it is possible that all the apostles will need felling in the future.

· Commemorative stone has been installed
· New gate in rec field fence approved by police but to be unlocked only during matches. Before installation the Football Club will have to provide a certificate clearing the Parish Council of any liability should accidents occur and also accepting responsibility of securing the gate. Present damage to the fence to be made good by the club.
· Ms Astell had suggested building a Willow House for children within the village maybe the playarea

· Chair had attendeda meeting of the King Alfreds District Scouts Stuart Rae Challenge. Several Stanford Scouts had taken part , their names to be included in the next newsletter
· Cllr Gill was concerned about parishioners input into projects and asked that meetings be advertised more widely

Following discussion in which Cllr Gill produced a detailed report of his
recommendations for which the Chair thanked him, it was decided to err on the
side of prudence and recommend a precept of £23,000. Although this was an
increase over the present year, due to the fact that there is an increase in
dwellings the annual amount payable for the parish is less:
i.e. 2004/2005 £22,000

Box. There may be other alternatives. I hope Cllr.Hughes may have some suggestions.
Is a Parish Council asset is in need of general roof repairs. The Club is keen to make the repairs with their own labour. They would like permission to exact the repairs
And also apply for a grant towards materials from the Council. Any financial support could trigger other grants from the District Council etc. The Club is keen to improve facilities but are concerned about the length of lease limiting their progress. Could we assure the Club we are supportive of their ventures
