Minutes of a meeting of the STANFORD IN THE VALE PARISH COUNCIL held on Wednesday 4th December 2002 at Stanford Village Hall.

Questions/comments from Parishioners

Sam Grimstead showed the Council plans and costings for a skateboard area – suplly and installation on a prepared surface.He was advised to re- contact PPC with these prices.Wren had advised him to form a committee to include a Councillor(s).he will liase with Cllr.Gill.he was thanked for the work that he had done.

4/12/02 Report of District Councillor

 

                        1.various primary schools in the Vale have been awarded £100 worth of bulbs for taking part in a waste minimisation initiative.

                        2.Approaches have been made to some parishioners regarding the social housing built by David Wilson Homes.

                        3.The Council Tax bases for the Vale were approved at the last meeting.The number of properties vale wide is 47,204.Exempt properties 1,919.

                        4.The debate about concessionary Fares continues – the age group to benefit will in future probably be 65 for men and women,but nothing has been settled.

                        5.The next Area Committee(West) is on Monday 27th January

                        6.Car Parking Charges will go up 2003 – 4 – they will be implemented in June 2003.

5/12/02 Report of County Councillor

 

The A 417 manhole covers had been repaired,the road being closed for one day.The County is awaiting the funding formulae for the coming financial year,but expects a  17% increase in taxation.Double-decker school buses are checked for safety and limited to 42 mph.The A417 footpath as reported by Cllr.Sandels is to be looked at.

Lime Trees Manor Green – awaiting County Tree Officer report

Forest Grove – Planning Officer considering possible breaches of plans.

                         Monitoring Officer informed of breaches of out of hours movement of

                         Plant/Machinery

ITD – Repairs spares obtained for £30 rather than quoted £100

Photocopier – With Freedom of Information Act in mind this is probably a necessity.

                        Quotes had been obtained.Cllrs Bambury and Williams will look at

                        second hand machines for comparison.

Standing Orders – Date of signing Code of Conduct was 6 March 2002

Grant application – Floodlighting and hardstanding – completed and sent to PPC

Street lighting – No progress – individual lights not covered by ORCC grants

 

7/12/02 Report of Chairman

 

Reported meeting with H.Cox re: s106 money and re allocation.

Approval from OCC to tarmac entrance to rec field.

The new slide had been repaired after being vandalised.Police are making regular visits in order to limit vandalism.

Vandal proof litter bins had arrived

Village of Year – Business in the Community Award – Ecoquip to accompany Chairman to London for the presentation.ORCC want Stanford used as a mentor and will be published in their newsletter.

Mr.P.Wentworth had offered to repair the mower and probably the older one as well.

Cllr.Williams informed Council that he had purchased 2 filing cabinets and 2 steel cupboards on behalf of the Council.he will liase with Cllr Hughes re access to URC

Following a request from Cllr Bungay at a previous meeting for a donation towards the Viullage Hall Xmas Draw and the Chairmans offer of £10 from his allowance
