- Youths roaming village early hours trying car doors . Several reports of exterior items
missing
from cars. Police informed

- OCC clearing weeds from gutters after we were
resigned to carrying out this task. It was decided that the sweeping
machine still be hired to clear remaining areas. Vale Housing to be
contacted re garage areas Perrys
Road
- 22 August a “miniolympics”
organised by District Council will be held in the Rec.Field
- Fair is currently in the village – Mr Scarrott has been told that any damage must be “made
good” or there will be a charge to repair.
- Grass verge maintenance grant received from OCC -
£5086 – a further increase

- Tree care – Goodwood Tree
Care had carried out work on Church and Upper greens to make trees safe
and raised canopies to facilitate mowing. A protected tree on High
St. near St Denys
Close needs to be protected by kerbing at a cost of £1237 following
continual damage by vehicles. Ignoring the need for protection could carry
a fine of £10000. An application for a grant from the PPC has been made
- Benhams Solicitors had
visited the village and offered free advice about the situation at Frogmore Brook re Ownership of land and bridge. Clerk
to write to riparian owner’s solicitor regarding evidence of ownership.
Also suggested that Council should press OCC regarding the reclaimed tip
area especially areas not contaminated by methane. County
Councillor to be made aware
- Climbing net is being installed – Picnic tables to
follow – Excess earth to be moved to A417 for repair purposes
- Transfer of Millennium Green to Parish Council
nearing completion
- Quotations for Marlborough
Lane bridge and one further in are awaited to
improve disabled access and increase safety
- Village
of Year – Awarded £200
environmental award from Trust for Oxfordshire Environment for Flood
prevention Measures and for having trees satellite recorded
- Environmental Agency – Entire length of Frogmore Brook designated as Flood Plain. Council
recommended that OCC and Environmental Agency should consider D.McKnight’s report regarding Stanford flooding
especially where River Ock meets Mill House on
A417. It was suggested by Cllr Hughes that the A417 road levels be raised
to help alleviate flooding and prevent Stanford being cut off.

regarding rental or purchase of land off Horsecroft
for recreation purposes

Projects:

Erection
of Pyramid Climbing Frame and Picnic Tables started June 27th.
Hopefully completed by Friday 4th July. Excavated soil to spread on
a 417 verge as necessary, Millennium Green and possibly small pitch at
Recreation ground if Fair trucks leave ruts.

Proposal: More benches for Recreation Ground
by Skate Park and
Junior Football Pitch -summer. ‘ Rootfast’
have special offers at present.
Maintenance:
- Higher
fence issue at Football Club still to be agreed
- Gate
and timber rails and wire mesh have been placed (Some still to complete)
at Huntersfield side of Village Park Fencing to
improve entrance / exit from park and Village Hall. The intention to
discourage climbing and further breakages. (D.Rolls)
- Fencing still needs fixing at
Recreation Ground
- Village
looking clear of litter. Grass cutting /strimming
continues and everywhere looking very good.
- The
Jubilee
Garden
and area around needs attention
- Timber
treatment is also being done around Village Hall Fence.
- Proposal-
we level areas on the A417 verge opposite the H and J and send invoice to
Highways using soil from Village Hall Play Area. We have plenty of grass
seed and can spread over to renovate.
- Will
spread more grass seed on banked area at Recreation Ground.
- Skate
park has been repainted with 2 coats - PG and MV organised with support
from Jason, Josh, Craig
- It
will be good to get the new trailer collecting all debris from cuttings
and taken to be re-cycled but no space to house once assembled.
- Barrels
and pump for diesel sorted and delivery has taken place.
- Trees trimmed by Goodwood
on Church Green and Upper Green
