Clerk asked Councillors not to pass every enquiry to him especially if it did not concern the Parish Council. A recent case regarding “Cleanaway”      had resulted in several hours of wasted time when the complainant could have been advised to contact the District Council direct who were dealing with the problem anyway.

·        Chairman direct Councillors to his annual report which the Clerk distributed. He added  that due to our low precept Stanford parishioners paid less than the majority of Oxfordshire communities.

·        He reported that he had suggested Mrs Greenwood, Mrs Varney and Mrs Bungay for BBC Community awards and was pleased to report that all had received certificates for their work withinthe village to the benefit of others.

·        The PPC had replied regarding the request for payments to Clerk and Wentworth Estate for work and expenses in reworking and producing accounts . This had been refused, further action via legal advice to be taken

·        There is disappointment in the loss of the street cleaning grant from the District Council, in future the cost  of cleaning the village streets will have to be borne by the Parish. This item to the newsletter

Questions from Parishioners

Cllr.Shires asked about dog bins in Marlborough Lane. Clerk said that District Council had promised extra bins but Marlborough Lane was not a site mentioned. There is the problem of emptying the bins and DC will only empty those that they provide. Clerk to investigate.

Cllr Shires also asked about the Jubilee Garden and had received comments about how overgrown it was. Chairman said that this was being seen to but added that it was supposed to be a wild flower rather than a cultured garden
